__________________________________________________________________________BIO: Daniel X. McCaffrey has been a Special Agent with the FBI for nearly 18 years, assigned to the New York area. Prior to joining the FBI, he was employed by Tiffany & Co. for nine years, leaving as Director of Retail Operations. He has a B.S. in Government and Politics from St. John’s University in Queens, N.Y.
Agent McCaffrey is one of the leading experts in U.S. law enforcement on criminals who attack the jewelry industry, and he has a national reputation as the law enforcement person to go to for advice on jewelry crime investigations. Agent McCaffrey uses a nationwide information sharing network of law enforcement personnel to pursue criminal gangs, and has worked closely with the NYPD and with police departments throughout the U.S. He has been involved in innumerable investigations and arrests of major jewelry gangs and criminals.
Agent McCaffrey was awarded the James B. White Award to Law Enforcement by the Jewelers’ Security Alliance in 2006, and received the John J. Kennedy law enforcement award from the American Gem Society in 2015.
